I recently posted in the News Section of this blog the official JACC paper regarding the announcement supporting the inclusion of saturated fats in our diets, importantly noting, “…historical facts demonstrate that saturated fats were an abundant, key part of the ancient human diet.”
But I also came across this from Health, Home & Happiness: “Those of us who slather butter, pour cream, and thrive on red meat are no longer rebels! The Journal of American College of Cardiology just issued a revision of recommendations regarding saturated fat”:
Whole-fat dairy, unprocessed meat, eggs and dark chocolate are saturated fatty acid-rich foods with a complex matrix that are not associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The totality of available evidence does not support further limiting the intake of such foods.
